The Happy Plates Project is our flagship school-based food initiative, offering nourishing meals for just $5 per day, including both morning tea and lunch. We bring warmth and community straight into the heart of each school, with meals freshly prepared on-site using local, seasonal produce that might not meet supermarket standards, but is still every bit as delicious and nutritious.

By cooking at the school, we create more than just meals—we create connections. Students can see where their food comes from, smell it cooking, and learn that good food doesn’t have to be fancy or wasteful to be full of flavour and care.

Our meals are inclusive, catering to a wide range of dietary needs and preferences. Whether it’s allergies, cultural considerations, or simply picky eaters, we ensure every student and staff member can sit down to food that feels like it was made just for them.

Happy Plates Canteen

Wholesome, fun food for growing minds and big appetites is back in term 4!

Our school canteen is proudly run by Happy Scraps, serving up affordable, nourishing lunches that kids actually love to eat. From build-your-own toasties and hearty homemade pasta to fruity snacks and fun drinks like the Bananarilla Smoothies, every item is made with care, and often with rescued & seasonal ingredients.

We believe in keeping lunch fresh, fuss-free, and full of goodness. Whether it’s a classic sausage roll, a sweet fruity muffin, or a smoothie made with love, our menu balances taste and nutrition while keeping costs family-friendly.

The Curious Carrot Club

The Curious Carrot Club is where little hands get dirty, curious minds get buzzing, and good food stories begin.

This joyful garden-to-kitchen program invites kids to grow, cook, and eat real food while discovering where it comes from and why it matters. From healthy soil and wriggly worms to crunchy carrots and warm meals, children follow the journey of food every step of the way.

Kids plant seeds, harvest produce, cook simple dishes, and share meals together, learning that food doesn’t magically appear on plates, it grows, it takes care, and it connects us all.

Along the way, the Curious Carrot Club helps children:

  • build confidence in the kitchen

  • try new foods without pressure

  • understand the importance of healthy soil and ecosystems

  • develop lifelong skills around food, wellbeing, and sustainability

Designed especially for small and rural schools, the program is hands-on, inclusive, and full of wonder. It grows with the seasons and with the children themselves.

The Curious Carrot Club isn’t just about eating vegetables.
It’s about curiosity, connection, and growing happy, healthy humans, one carrot at a time.

A variety of dishes served on colourful plates, including grilled skewers with rice, shredded carrots, and cucumber slices.
